Did you know, that when the original Star Wars movie came out, they didn’t have any SWAG?  There were no lightsabers, no t-shirts, nothing! It wasn’t because they didn’t try.  What’s most noteworthy, is they were flat out turned down by all the manufacturers at the time.

In fact, there may never have been a rush to create and get to market with toys and gear than there was after the initial release of Star Wars.  Anything looking like a lightsaber was literally running off the shelves.

A mistake that doesn’t seem to happen any longer, in fact, most movies have toys, shirts and items of interest on the shelves months before the actual release now. Even movies that don’t turn out so hot.

Epic Comedies

 How about those epic and funny movies, like the parody Space Balls – taking off from Star Wars. Yeah, even the biggest Star Wars fans alike think this is a classic. It only grew and grew as a funny release as its slap-stick comedy played off the seriousness of Star Wars, Darth Vader and the entire Star Wars plot and directions.  John Candy – you rocked!

Yes, there is that little guy that is in all the Hunny I Shrunk the Kids movies, as well as Strange Brew. You know him… Rick Moranis.
